A Study of Revelation Day 20

Review Revelation 17

In this chapter one of the seven angels reveals the woman on the Beast as Babylon... the mother of earth's abominations and the great city who had grown drunk on the blood of the righteous. The angel also reveals how the kings to come will be conquered by the Lamb and will destroy Babylon to accomplish God's purpose.

God hates sin and his purpose will be accomplished through his faithful followers and through those who do not know Him on this earth.

What purpose is God trying to work out in your life?

Those who war against the Lamb will be conquered. Are you a faithful follower... one with God through your relationship with Jesus as your Lord and Saviour?

READ REVELATION 18

Study verses 1 through 3 and Isa 13:9-13. What does the angel from heaven proclaim? Describe how and why Babylon will fall during this Day of the Lord.

Study verses 4 and 5, Jer 50:8-16 and Matt 22:1-15. What does the voice from Heaven command regarding Babylon. How will Babylon be destroyed as described in the Jeremiah passage? Who will come out from Babylon during this time of tribulation?

Study verses 9 through 19, Jer 25:30-33, Ezek 28:2-8 and 2 Cor 6:14-18. Describe the judgment that will fall on Babylon and the response of the world to this judgement. What is the underlying reason for this response?

Read verses 20-24. What is the response of the voice from Heaven to Babylon's destruction? How is this response different from that of the world? List at least one additional verse out of the Bible that describes the light of the world.

A Study of Revelation Day 19

Review Revelation 16

In this chapter of Revelation we see the seven angels of God pour out His wrath on the earth. As the earthly kings are gathered for Armageddon, they curse God and refuse to repent. God declares it is done as the seventh angel pours out God's wrath and Babylon is destroyed.

God gives all people ample opportunity to see his mighty power and repent of their sins. The consequence of refusing to repent is ultimate destruction.

Where did God show you his power this week in your life?

What sin does he want you to repent of?

Have your sins been washed clean by the blood of Jesus Christ?

Are you waiting for yet another miracle to finally make that commitment to Christ as your Lord and Saviour?

READ REVELATION 17 and Jeremiah 51

From Rev 17:1-2 and Jer 51, describe who would be judged by God and the reasons for this Judgement.

Study Rev 17:3-6 and 2 Thes 2:1-12. Describe the specific actions of Satan that will occur in and through Babylon and why they are considered abominable by God. Who holds power over Satan as described in the 2 Thessalonian passage?

Read Rev 17:7-14, 1 Tim 6:15 and Matt 22:14. Describe the mystery of the woman, the seven heads and the ten horns. Who is in ultimate control of the war against the Lamb and who will be with the Lamb during this time of tribulation?

Study Rev 17:15-18 and 2 Thes 2:11. What do the waters represent? Who controls the waters?

A Study of Revelation Day 18

Review Revelation 15

In this chapter we see seven angels with the last seven plagues appear with those who did not give into the Beast and his number. They sing a song of praise to God and are given possession of His wrath while God's glory fills his temple.

God is great. His ways are just and true and he wants us to fear and glorify Him because He alone is Holy. All believers in Christ will be victorious over Satan. Only they are righteous before God and will be spared his eternal wrath.

What areas of your life do you need to completely turn over to God?

In what ways has God caused you to triumph over Satan in your life's tribulation?

What lessons did you learn in your triumph and how did it glorify Him?

READ REVELATION 16 AND SKIM EXODUS 7 AND 9

List how God's wrath was poured out by each of the seven angels and compare this with the events occurring in the Exodus passages. Compare the response of Pharaoh to the response of the Earth to God's wrath.

Read verse 12 and Isa 41:2. What events are described in the Revelation passage and what additional information do you learn from the Isaiah passage?

What do we learn about these times as we read Rev 16:13-14 and 1 Tim 4?

Read Rev 16:18-21 and Dan 12 and describe what will take place in the end times.

A Study of Revelation Day 17

Review Revelation 14

In this chapter we see the Lamb of God standing with those sealed on Mt. Zion while Babylon falls. As Babylon falls we see the people of the earth punished and tormented by God who is eternal.

Passages out of this chapter speak of Jesus harvesting the earth and angels harvesting the earth's vine to be placed under the wine press of God's wrath. The earth's vine is marked by the Beast and worships him and his image. John 15:1 tells us that Jesus is the true vine and God is the gardener. God wants us to stand with his son Christ, sealed with His blood, becoming one with Him... the only true vine. If we choose otherwise we will face eternal torment at the hands of God and his angels.

To which vine do you belong?

How did your actions today in your work, school or home reflect this?

Are you more like the Saints or more like those ripening on Earth's vine soon to be gathered?

READ REVELATION 15 AND EXODUS 15:1-18

Read verses 1-3. Who was present with the seven angels and why were these people there?

Read verses 3-4, Hos 14:9 and Ex 15:1-18. Give at least three attributes of God and two attributes of what our actions should be in response to God as described in these passages.

Read verses 5-8, Ex 40:35, John 2:19 and 1 Cor 3:16. What were the angels given when the Tabernacle of the Testimony was opened? Why was access to the Temple restricted until the plagues were completed? Where is God's temple for those who do not believe in his son Jesus as Lord and Saviour? Where does it reside for those who are saved?

A Study of Revelation Day 16

Review Revelation 13

In this chapter of Revelation we see two Beasts who are given power and authority by the Dragon to slander God. As they conquer the Saints, they force the world to receive the Mark of the Beast.

These verses show us that there are two types of people... those in the world and those whose names are written in the Book of the Lamb. There are no others. Those in the world are deceived by the Devil and those who are faithful Saints are persecuted.

God wants us to be patient in Him and to have faith in the work of His son Jesus on the cross. He wants us to be strong when we are persecuted as we wait for His work and His will to be done in us and through us.

In what part of your life are you facing persecution?

In what part of your life do you need greater faith and patience in God?

READ REVELATION 14

From verses 1-5 describe who was standing with the Lamb on Mt. Zion.

In conjunction with verses 1-5, read James 1:16-18, Psa 32:2, Zeph 3:13 and Eph 5:27. List some of the characteristics of these people that are pleasing to God.

Read verses 6-13, Jer 25:15, 1 Cor 15:18 and 1 Thes 4:16. Briefly list what each of the three angels was preaching and include additional information provided by the extra passages.

Study verses 14-20 and read Dan 7:13, Jer 51:33, Isa 63:3, Heb 13:12 and John 15:1. Describe each of the harvests taking place in these verses. What does God require so that the people may be made Holy?
