A Study of Revelation Day 15

Review Revelation 12

In this chapter a heavenly woman appears giving birth to Jesus whose authority is challenged by the Devil.  The Devil loses the war in heaven and is cast down to earth.  On earth he is to lead some astray and wage war on believers who obey God and hold fast to the testimony of Jesus.

Jesus will one day rule the earth but until his second coming the Devil is real and he is here leading people astray, accusing and waging war against believers.

In what part of your life is the Devil trying to lead you astray?

What specific sins in your past do you dwell on... accused... even though you have been washed clean in the blood of Jesus Christ?

What can you do better in your work, school or home to obey God and hold fast to the testimony of Jesus?

A Study of Revelation Day 13

Review Revelation 11:1-4

During the second woe, God's two prophets are killed and then resurrected as God's testimony torments and judges the world.

This passage shows that God's truth, teaching and testimony apply to all people and that he will judge the unrepentant.

His truth and testimony show us that all sin will be judged and that this judgement brings death.  No works of men can atone for this sin.  No works of men can escape this judgement.  Only the work of Christ on the cross... his crucifixion... his death... and his resurrection can atone for our sins.  When we accept him as our saviour we are given the gift of eternal life.

Up until now have you been relying on your good works, your family history, your baptism as an infant or other things for your salvation?

What steps do you need to take right now to be assured of your salvation?

In Rev 11:10 we see the earth celebrating over the death of God's two prophets.  What sins do you celebrate instead of repent of before God?

In this passage we see a mighty angel from heaven holding open a scroll, proclaiming that there would be no more delight and that the mystery of God would be accomplished.  John takes this scroll and eats it and is told to prophesy to all nations.

We learn that God wants us to read his word, understand his instructions, believe with our hearts and tell others of his Glory.

Do you find Joy in Gods' words?

Are his instructions sweet as honey for you or do they sour your stomach?  God's will for us is often difficult for us to understand... how can you more fully focus this week on having joy in what he has given you to do for Him no matter how difficult the task may seem?

This passage reveals that God is worthy of promise, honor and glory and his wisdom, power and strength are eternal.

Just like the multitude in white robes, it teaches that the believers are washed free of the consequences of sin by the blood of the Lamb Jesus Christ and that this grace is available to all people.
