In this chapter in Revelation, an angel from heaven binds Satan and throws him into the Abyss starting the thousand year reign of Christ. The righteous dead for Christ are resurrected and rule with him until Satan comes back to war against God. As Satan and his army surround God’s people fire devours them and they are thrown into the Lake of Fire to be tormented forever. It is then that the dead are judged. All whose names are not in the Book of Life join Satan in the Lake of Fire for eternal torment.
God desires that we follow Jesus now and in the future. Those who know Christ will triumph over Satan in this life and even in our deaths.
All of mankind will be judged for what they have done… is your name written in the Book of Life? If it is, what difficult decisions do you need to make today to better follow Christ’s will for you in this life? If your name is not yet written in the Book of Life, will you take that next step to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour... it will change your life, your death and your eternal existence.
READ REVELATION 21
Read verses 1-8, Ezek 37:27, 2 Cor 6:16 and 1 Cor 15:26. Compare and contrast our world with the New Heaven and New Earth that God will create. Compare those who overcome with those who do evil. What will happen to these two people groups?
Read verses 9-21. Describe the New Jerusalem. Can you think of any other places on Earth that are as magnificent as this?
Read verses 22-27, Heb 12:14, Ex 33:12-23 and Matt 16:18. Describe where Jesus and God will be in the New Earth. What is their relationship with sin? What promise does God fulfill when he brings the New Heaven and New Earth?
