In this final Chapter of Revelation we see God's glory revealed through the grace he offers to all people through his son Jesus Christ. It describes the River of Life as it flows from the holy throne of God and Jesus bringing eternal light to all who are clothed in righteousness. Jesus tells us that he is coming soon to bring eternal blessing to all who are thirsty for the Water of Life and he warns us about the risk of changing these prophetic words given to us in the Bible. As the Alpha and the Omega, He is coming soon to shower his grace on all of God’s people.
Jesus wants to bless us and clothe us in His eternal righteousness and He offers the free gift of the Water of Life. Whoever is thirsty and wishes may partake in the reward that is in Him.
From these passages we learn that salvation rests on not only our desire to be saved and the desire of Jesus to be our savior, but also on the action we must take to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in our life. This is the only path to salvation.
Are you saved? Have you taken the steps necessary to be clothed in righteousness? What additional proof is holding you back from turning your desire into action… an action that will have eternal consequences in your life?
Verses 10 and 11 tell us that the time is near and to persevere in what we are doing. If you are truly already saved, in what ways are you persevering in the faith… the true faith found only in Jesus Christ?
Take this moment to make the commitment to rejoice every day in the Grace given us in the Lord Jesus who says, “Yes, I am coming soon.”
